The effect of diazepam and fluoxetine combination in crue of destructive behavioural disorders in dogs
Destructive behaviours may also appear as pay attention demand despite there is no an-xiety. Destructive behaviours which are not related to separation anxiety may start for hours later from leaving of animal owner while destructive behaviours which are related to separation anxiety start before or just later from leaving. This distinction is important with respect to cure. If a psychotropic medicine is to be used in cure of behavioural disorders, choosing which medicine propers to every disorder is very important. But animal owners sometimes can't give the necessary and exact anamnesis for final diagnosis of problem. Therefore, the effects of a mixed cure have been searched in cure of destructive behavioural disorders which related to anxiety or not related to anxiety. The one group has been administered with Fluoxetine HCL ( 1 mg / kg) and diazepam (Diazem®, 1 mg / kg) with anxiolytic influence while the other group is administered Fluoxetine HCL with antidepressant properties (Depreks®, 1 mg/kg). As a result it was determined that the combined use of antidepressant and anxiolytic medicines is more effective in cure of destructive behaviours which not known the cause.
