Bu çalışmada 56 günlük 13'ü dişi ve 12'si erkek olmak üzere toplam 25 bıldırcının gl. thyreoidea'sı incelendi ve 10 tanesinden mikroskobik incelemeler için kesitler hazırlandı. Bezin genel ortalama ağırlığının 175.94 ± 20.44 gr canlı ağırlığa sahip bıldırcınlarda, sol tarafta 6.28 $pm$ 3.95 mg, sağ tarafta 5.96 ± 3.51 mg olduğu belirlendi. Gl. thyreoidea'nm yapılan ölçümler sonucunda uzunluğunun solda 2.94±0.48 mm, sağda 2.85 ± 0.56 mm genişliğinin solda 1.94 ± 0.43 mm, sağda 2.04 ± 0.38 mm, kalınlığının ise solda 1.46 ± 0.42 mm, sağda 1.48 ± 0.31 mm, olduğu saptandı. Kesitlerde yapılan mikroskobik incelemede internal parathyreoid'e rastlanmadı.

In this study, 25 thyroid glands from 56 days old, 12 male and 13 female quails were investigated. Amongst these, 10 thyroid glands were randomly selected and prepared for histological examination. Average weight of the left and right part of the thyroid gland of 175.94 ± 20.44 gr quails were 6.28 ± 3.95 mg and 5.96 $pm$ 3.51 mg respectively. Measurements of the thyroid glands have revealed that the length, the widht and the thickness of the left part were 2.94 ± 0.48 mm, 1.94 ± 0.43 mm and 1.46 ± 0.42 mm respectively. Whereas, same parameters of the right part were 2.85 ± 0.56 mm, 2.04 ± 0.38 mm and 1.48 ± 0.31 mm respectively. There was no parathyroid tissue in the thyroid glands on microscopic examination.
