Düşünce tarihinin verimli bir sahası olan ütopya, ilk bakışta hayali, gerçek olmayan ve fakat ideal toplum tasarısıdır. Ancak biraz derinliğine bakıldığında mekânla, hatta kentle ilgili olduğu görülür. Bu bağlamda ütopyanın, kent hayatıyla, kentsel ve toplumsal düzenle, ideal hayat arayışıyla bağlantıları incelenmeye değer bir olgu olarak belirir. Ütopya, mekân ve kentin ideal formudur. Bu yazı, ütopya ve ütopik düşünceyi mekân ve kent bağlamında betimleyici bir şekilde irdelemektedir.

The utopia, an efficient field of the history of opinion, can be seen as imaginary, unreal and ideal design of society. Utopia can be considered as a fact related with real place and city also. Utopia can be conceptualized as a result of the city life, urban and social order, ideal life in this context. Utopia is ideal form of place and city. This paper examines the utopia and utopian thought in the context of place and city.
