Müzakereci demokrasi ve sınırları

Bit makalede demokrasi teorisinde son zamanlarda baskın bir tema haline gelen "müzakereci demokrasi" eleştirel bir bakışla ele (ılınmaktadır. Özellikle, arka planında Habennas 'ııı "i lef iş imsel eylem " kuramı bulunan müzakereci demokrasi anlayışı açıklandıktan sonra, bu teorinin asitli ve epistemolojik öncüllerinden kaynaklanan sınırları üstünde odaklanılmakta-dır. Makale, müzakereci demokrasinin merkezi kavramı olan "kamusal müzakere "nin demokratik ideal açısından değerini takdir etmekle beraber, bit noktarıııı müzakereci demokrasivi başlı başına veya alternatif bir demokrasi teorisi olarak görmek için yeterli olmadığı vı ti guşayla sona ermektedir.

Deliberative democracy and its limits

This article presents a critical analysis of "deliberative democracy" which has recently been one of the dominant themes İn democratic ilieo/y. After giving an account of the deliberative democracy based on the J-Jabermasian concept of "communicative action" I focus on the limits of that concept due to its procedural and epistemological premises. The article concludes by emphasizing that though public deliberation as the pivotal concept of deliberative democracy has a privileged place in democratic ideal, this place does not give deliberative democracy a status of being an alternative theory of democracy.
