Haydi, Hayatı Kucakla, Yaşam Becerileri Eğitimi Projesi’nin Ortaokul Öğrencilerinin Sosyal Beceri Düzeyi ve İnternet Bağımlılık Düzeyine Etkisi
İSTKA tarafından desteklenen “Haydi Hayatı Kucakla-Yaşam Becerileri Eğitimi” projesi, çocuk ve gençlerde internet bağımlılık durumunun azaltılması ve buna bağlı olarak okul ile diğer çevreyle ilişkiler için gerekli olan sosyal becerilerin yaşam becerileri eğitimi ile geliştirilmesini amaçlamaktadır. Araştırma, İstanbul’da 22 ilçede yürütülmüştür. Her ilçeden onar devlet okulu araştırmaya dahil edilmiş olup, bu okullarda öğrenim gören ortaokul öğrencileri çalışmanın katılımcılarını oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma ön-test/son-test tek gruplu zayıf deneysel model ile desenlenmiştir. Veri toplama araçları olarak İnternet Bağımlılık Ölçeği (Bayraktar, 2001) ve Matson Çocuklarda Sosyal Becerileri Değerlendirme Ölçeği (Bacanlı ve Erdoğan, 2003) kullanılmıştır. Öğrencilere 2015-2016 eğitim öğretim yılında yaşam becerileri eğitimi verilmiştir. Araştırma kapsamında yer alan 22 ilçeden tabakalı rassal örnekleme ile seçilen 277 katılımcının proje uygulamalarından internet bağımlılıklarını azaltma ve sosyal becerilerini geliştirme bağlamında nasıl ve ne derecede etkilendiği incelenmiştir. Bulgular genel olarak katılımcıların ilçeler düzeyinde internet bağımlılıklarını proje uygulamalarının etkisiyle azalttığını, sosyal beceri düzeylerini ise proje uygulamaları etkisi ile artırdığını göstermiştir. Elde edilen bulgular ilgili literatür kapsamında tartışılmış ve projenin gelecek uygulamaları için çeşitli önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
The Effect of Lets Embrace The Life-Training of Life Skills Project on Elementary Grade The Degree of Students’ Social Skills and Internet Addiction
The project of “Lets Embrace The Life-Training of Life Skills” is supported by Development Agency of Istanbul. The aim of the project is to develop the social skills of children and youth by offering a training of life skills. It is also expected to decrease the internet addiction as a result of the training. The current project study has been implemented in 22 provinces of Istanbul, Turkey. The participants of the study are made up of students who continue their education at the middle schools. 10 public schools from each province were included. The research is done by single subject pre-test/post-test experimental design. The scales of “Internet addiction” (Bayraktar, 2001) and “Matson Evaluation of Social Skills of Youth (MESSY)” (Bacanlı & Erdogan, 2003) which were adapted into Turkish were used as data collection instruments in the present study. The participants were 277 selected students by means of strata random sampling. The participants (students) in the study were given a training which continued in the academic year of 2015-2016. In general, the project was effective in reducing the internet addiction of the participants through increasing their social development and interactions. Further discussions are presented based on the related theoretical frames and suggestions are provided for the future progress of the project and its implementations.
