İmam Matüridi ve Fahreddin er-Razi farklı kelam ekollerine mensup müfessir ve mütekellim olan iki İslam âlimidir. Bu müellifler dirayet tefsir usulünü benimsemiş olmalarına rağmen Fatiha suresinin tefsirinde daha önceki müfessirlerin nakillerine yer vermişlerdir. Matüridî ve Razî’nin Fatiha suresi tefsirlerini şöyle özetlemek mümkündür. Fatiha Mushaflarda ilk sırada yer alan suredir. Fatiha ayet sayısı itibariyle kısa olan ancak anlam itibariyle çok şeyler ifade eden bir suredir. Fatiha’da Allah’ı övmenin yanında O’nun uluhiyet ve rububiyyeti beyan buyurulur ve Allah’ın ahiret gününün yegâne sahibi olduğu belirtilir. Fatiha’da kendisine ibadet edilecek ilahın sadece Allah olduğu ve yardım istenecek tek ilahın Allah olduğu kuvvetli vurgu ile ifade edilir. Fatiha’nın ikinci yarısında kul Allah’tan kendisini nimet verilenlerin yolu olan dosdoğru yola ulaştırmasını ister ve Allah’ın gazabına uğrayanların ve sapmışların yolundan da uzak tutmasını Rabbinden diler.

Imam Maturidi and Fahreddin er-Razi are two Islamic scholars who are the commentators and followers of different kalam schools. Although these authors have adopted the method of acumen commentary, they have included quotations from previous exegetes in their commentaries. It is possible to summarize the excerpts of surah al-Fatiha by Maturidî and Razi as follows. Fatiha is the first surah of the Qur’an. Fatiha is short as of the number of verses but it is rich in terms of meaning. In Fatiha, besides praising God, his uluhiyat and rububiyyat is put forward and it is stated that Allah is the sole possessor of the Day of the Hereafter. In Fatiha, it is expressed with a strong emphasis that the god to be worshiped is only God and that Allah is the only god to be called for help. In the second half of the Fatiha, the servant wants Allah to lead him to the straight path. Human asks his Lord to keep him away from those who stray to his wrath and from the way of the deviants.
