Cevizlerde en uygun aşılama zamanının saptanmasını amaçlayan bu çalışma, 1998-1999 yıllarında MKÜ. Ziraat Fakültesi, Bahçe Bitkileri Bölümünde (Antakya) yapılmıştır. Çalışmada, aşı kalemi olarak Tip-1, aşı yöntemi olarak “yama” aşısı kullanılmıştır. Aşılamalar, 1 Haziran-15 Eylül arasındaki dönemde 15’er gün aralıklarla yapılmıştır. Sonuçta, 1 Haziran (%57.50) ile 1 ve 15 Eylül (%55.00 ve %52.50) dönemlerinde yapılan aşılardan, öteki dönemlere göre daha yüksek aşı başarısı elde edilmiştir.

This study was conducted to determine the most suitable budding time of walnut during 1998 and 1999, at the Department of Horticulture, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Mustafa Kemal in Antakya. In the study, Tip-1 walnut variety was used as the scion and patch budding as the budding method. The budding was applied between June 1 and September 15 with 15-day intervals. According to results, the percentage of bud-take in budding on the first of June 1 and 15 September was found higher than other budding periods. The average bud-take at this period was calculated as 57.50 %, 55.00 % and 52.50 %, respectively.
