Kanıta Dayalı Bakımın Geliştirilmesinde Iowa Modelinin Kullanımı

Sağlık hizmetlerinde klinik bakım ve tedavinin etkinliğini artırarak yüksek kaliteli bakım sağlamak hemşirelerin sorumluluğundadır. Kaliteli ve etkin bakım verilebilmesi için uygulamaların kanıta dayalı olarak uygulanması gerekmektedir. Iowa Modeli kanıta dayalı hemşirelik araştırmalarının belirli bir sistematik içerisinde yürütülmesini sağlayan bir modeldir. Bu model hasta bakım uygulamalarının kanıta dayalı gelişimi için çerçeve oluşturur. Hemşirelerin bilgi ve problem-odaklı tetikleyicilere yoğunlaşmasını sağlayarak hemşirelik uygulamalarını sorgulamasına ve güncel araştırma bulguları ile hasta bakımının iyileş- tirilip iyileştirilemeyeceğinin yanıtını aramasına öncülük eder. Kanıta dayalı hemşirelik uygulamalarında Iowa Modelinin kullanılmasında yedi aşama mevcuttur. Bu aşamalar; konunun seçilmesi, ekibin oluşturulması, kanıtların ortaya çıkarılması, kanıtın derecelendirilmesi, kanıta dayalı bir uygulama standardının oluşturması ve değerlendirmedir. Bu derleme Iowa Modeli ve bu modelin aşamaları ile hemşirelik uygulama ve araştırmalarında modelin kullanımına değinmek amacı ile yazılmıştır.

Using the Iowa Model in Evidence-Based Care Development

Nurses are responsible for providing high-quality patient care by increasing the effi ciency of clinical care and treatment in healthcare services. To provide high-quality and effective care, nursing practices should be evidence-based. The Iowa Model is a specifi c model which helps enable the execution of evidence-based nursing research. This model forms a framework for evidence-based development of patient care practices. It guides the questioning of nursing practices and seeks to answer whether patient care could be improved by current research fi ndings by allowing nurses to focus on information- and problemoriented triggers. In using the Iowa Model as a basis for evidence-based nursing practices there are seven steps to follow: topic selection, team formation, evidence retrieval, evidence assessment, evidence-based practice standards development, evidence-based practice implementation, and evaluation. This review aims to discuss the Iowa Model, its steps, and its use in women s health nursing research.
