Taramalarda “chemotherapy”, “peripheral neuropathy”, “pain”, “nursing”, “neuropathic pain”, “chemotherapy”, “oncology”, “peripheral neuropathy”, “chemotherapy”, “neuropathic pain”, “neuropathy” ve “nursing” anahtar kelimeleri değişik sıralamalarla kullanıldı.

Nursing Interventions of Chemotherapy- induced peripheral neuropathy and ne- uropathic pain in patients receiving taxa- nes and platino: A literature review

Peripheral neuropathy is one of the most common complications in the cancer treatment. Natural progression of chemotherapy- induced peripheral neuropathy deteriorates with repeating chemotherapy cures. Early diagnosis and treatment of neuropathy is very important for the life quality of patient receiving cancer treatment. However, data are very limited in this subject. Aim: The aim of this systematic review is to investigate the studies which evaluate peripheral neuropathy and neuropathic pain related with peripheral neuropathy, to determine possible nursing initiatives in this subject, and to provide basis for possible future studies. Method: Databases of Web of Knowledge and Pubmed are used for getting through journal articles related with the subject. In the queries, the keywords, “chemotherapy”, “peripheral neuropathy”, “pain”, “nursing”, “neuropathic pain”, “chemotherapy”, “oncology”, “peripheral neuropathy”, “chemotherapy”, “neuropathic pain”, “neuropathy”, and “nursing”, are used in different order. Seven articles related with chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy are gotten through. Results: The percentage of taxanes and platinos for causing peripheral neuropathy and neuropathic pain varies between 18% and 82%. As a result of the studies, chemotherapeutic peripheral neuropathy and neuropathic pain are found to be affecting the treatment period and casual life activities of the patients significantly. Conclusion: Fewness of the studies related with the subject and measurement devices makes performing new studies obligatory.
