Multiple sklerozun kadının cinsel yaşamı üzerine etkisi
Amaç: Bu çalışma multiple sklerozun (MS) kadının cinsel yaşamı üze- rine etkisini belirlemek amacıyla planlandı. Yöntem: Olgu-kontrol olarak planlanan çalışmada olgu grubunu; Bakırköy Ruh ve Sinir Hastalıkları Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi Nö- roloji Demyelinizan Hastalıklar MS Polikliniğine 29 Ocak-29 Tem- muz 2010 tarihleri arasında başvuran MS tanısı konmuş. psikiyatrik hastalığı olmayan. bilişsel fonksiyonları veri toplama araçlarını dol- durmaya uygun. cinsel yönden aktif 59 kadın oluşturdu. Kontrol gru- buna ise; aynı hastanenin farklı bölümlerine başvurmuş hasta yakını 89 sağlıklı kadın alındı. Çalışmada katılımcıların kişisel özelliklerine ilişkin verileri toplamak için araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen görüşme formu. yeti yitimini değerlendirmek için Genişletilmiş Özür- lülük Durum Skalası (EDSS). kadının cinsel işlevini değerlendirmek için Kadın Cinsel Fonksiyon Endeksi (FSFI) uygulandı. Veriler SPSS 13.0 paket programı kullanılarak analiz edildi. Bulgular: MS’li kadınların yaş ortalaması 36.06±6.64. kontrol gru- bunun ise 34.87±6.23 (p>0.05) idi. Effect of multiple sclerosis on sexual functions of women
Objective: The study was planned to determine the effect of multiple sclerosis (MS) on sexual functions of women. Method: In the study. which was designed as ca- se-control. the case group composed of sexually active 59 patients with cognitive functions conve- nient for completing data collecting tools. who were diagnosed for MS without any psychiatric disease. who admitted to the Neurology Demyeli- nating Diseases MS Polyclinic of Bakirkoy Psychiatric Training and Research Hospital bet- ween 29 January and 29 July 2010. Eighty-nine healthy women relative of patients who admitted to different departments of the same hospital we- re included as the control group. The interview form developed by the researchers was adminis- tered to collect the data related to the personal characteristics of the women. Expanded Disabi- lity Status Scale (EDSS) to evaluate the loss of ability. and Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) to evaluate the sexual function of the women. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 13.0. Results: Mean age of the women with MS was 36.06±6.64 and mean age of the control group was 34.87±6.23 (p>0.05). Mean disease duration of the case group was determined as 6.79±0.68 years. and mean treatment duration as 6.30±0.68 years.
