Bu araştırına, ABD temin edilen 15 adet yeni pamuk (Gossypium hirsutum L.) hatlarının Harran Ovası şartlanndaki performanslarını belirlemek amacıyla, 2000-2001 yıllarında GAP EYAM (GAP Eğitim,Yayım ve Araştırma Merkezi Müdürlüğü) deneme alanında yürütülmüştür. Denemeler, tesadüf blokları deneme deseninde ve 3 tekrarlamalı, parsel sıra uzunluğu 12 m, sıra arası 0.70 m ve sıra üzeri mesafe ise 0.15 m. olacak şekilde yürütülmüştür. Araştırma sonucunda; pamuk hatlarının, incelenen özellikler yönünden birbirinden önemli derecede farklı olduğu bulunmuştur. Ortalama kutlu pamuk verimi yönünden en yüksek, 91 D 49, 94 VD 17, TAM-8104 ve 93 GG 09; erkencilik bakımından, 90 O 24; lif verimi yönünden, 94 VD 17; çırçır randımanı yönünden, 91 D 49, TAM-8104 ve 93 FF 101; lif uzunluğu yönünden, RKRN-271; lif inceliği yönünden, 94 B 75; lif mukavemeti yönünden 91 A 107 ve lif uzunluk uyum indeksi yönünden ise, 94 B 75 ve 94 VD 17 hatlarının ümitvar olduğu saptanmıştır.

This research was carried out to determine the yield performance and some technological characteristics of 15 cotton lines (obtained from USA) (Gossypium hirsulum L.) at the Harran Plain conditions, at the research field of GAP EYAM (GAP Education, Extension and Research Center Directory) in 2000 and 2001. Experiments were designed as randomized complete block design with three replications. Each row was 12 m in length, row spacing of 0.7 m and intrarow spacing of 0.15 m.It was found that the cotton lines for investigated components have shown significant differences. Besides, it was determined that 91 D 49, 94 VD 17, TAM-8104 and 93 GG 09 for seed cotton yield; 90 O 24 for earliness; 94 VD 17 for lint yield; TAM-8104, 91 D 49 and 93 FF 101 for ginning outturn; RKRN-271 for fiber length; 94 B 75 for micronaire; 91 A 107 for fiber strength; and 94 B 75 and 94 VD 17 for uniformity were hopeful lines.
