The role of international direct investment on economic growth in Developing countries

This study examines the effect of international direct investments on economic growth for 24 Developing countries between the period of 1981 and 2007 with use of a panel data analysis. It is found that international direct investments, fixed capital formation, rate of population (labor) increase, and ratio of foreign openness have been affecting the growth positively and price instability and income-technological level differences have negative effects on growth. However, the effect of international direct investments on growth has not found as high and statistically meaningful as many studies find in this literature.
