Çocukluk Çağında Kala-Azar

Visseral leishmaniasis VL retikuloendotelial sistemi tutan yaygın bir enfeksiyon hastalığıdır. Hastalık dünyanın pek çok bölgesinde endemiktir. Uygun tedavi edilmediğinde, ilerleyici hastalık ölüme neden olur. Olguların %80’i beş yaş altındadır. Kuluçka döneminin uzun olması ve başlangıç bulgularının özgül olmaması nedeniyle çocuklarda tanı koymak güçtür ve çoğunlukla gecikir 1-3
