Removal of moisture in fine particles by applying high centrifugal G-forces

In the present study, fine particles are dewatered by high intensity centrifugal forces. Bituminous coal, anthracite and mineral concentrates (e.g., kaolin clay, precipitate calcium carbonate (PCC), quartz and lead) were subjected to the tests and effects of experimental parameters (G-Force, spin time, particle size, cake thickness, ash content, pulp temperature and mineral types) on dewatering of fine particles were investigated. It was seen from the experimental studies that the fine particles could be dewatered at higher G-Forces. As a result, the cost of thermal dryers and their negative effects on the environment can be decreased.
