Sigmoid kolonda saptanan polipe rektosigmoidoskopik polipektomi uygulandı. Patolojik incelemede endometriozis tanısı konuldu. Cerrahi girişime izin vermeyen hastaya hormonal supresyon (goserelin asetat) başlandı. Hasta halen kliniğimiz tarafından düzenli aralıklara takip edilmektedir. Sonuç: İntestinal endometrozisin esas tedavisi cerrahi müdahaledir. Ancak cerrahi müdahaleyi kabul etmeyen hastalara, yakın takip altında olmak koşulu ile medikal tedavi uygulanabilir.

Intestinal endometriosis: A rare case report

Aim: Intestinal endometriosis is a rare but clinically significant complication. The most commonly involved sites are the rectosigmoid and rectovaginal septum. In this case report we presented a patient with endometriosis in her sigmoid colon. Case report: A case of a 25-year-old married woman with intestinal endometriosis located in the sigmoid colon was presented with symptoms of pelvic pain and rectal bleeding. The diagnosis was established by means of rectosimoidoscopic polypectomy. Pathological examination revealed endometriosis. As the patient did not want the surgical procedure hormonal suppression (goserelin acetate) was given. The patient was followed up regularly by our clinic. Conclusion: The surgical approach is the best treatment choice of intestinal endometriosis but if the patient does not allow the surgical procedure medical treatment can be given under close observation.
