Astımlı hastalarda parfüm içeren madde kullanma alışkanlığının saptanması: Bir vaka-kontrol çalışması
Amaç: Bu çalışma, astımlı hastalarla, astım/allerjik hastalık öyküsü olmayan kişilerin parfüm ve parfüm içeren madde kullanma sıklıklarını belirlemek ve bu alışkanlıklarını karşılaştırmak amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Yöntem: Bu çalışma, Ekim-Aralık 2004 tarihleri arasında GATA Allerjik Hastalıklar polikliniğinde astım tanısı ile tedavi gören 83 hasta ile Mayıs 2005 tarihinde Ortopedi polikliniğine başvuran ve astım/allerjik hastalık öyküsü olmayan 264 hastada yapılmıştır. Bulgular: Vaka grubumuzda hastaların % 79,5’i kokularla temasta solunumsal problemler yaşadıklarını bildirirken, % 68,7’si düzenli parfüm kullandığını, % 85,5’i çamaşırlarını parfümlü deterjan veya yumuşatıcılarla yıkadığını, % 44,6’sı oda parfümleri kullandığını bildirdi. Kontrol grubunun % 22,3’ü parfüm ve benzeri kokularla temasta solunumsal problemler yaşadığını, % 47,0’si düzenli parfüm kullandığını, % 58,7’si çamaşırlarını parfümlü deterjan veya yumuşatıcılarla yıkadığını, % 34,1’i oda parfümü kullandığını bildirdi. Sonuç: Astım hastalarının parfüm ve parfüm içeren maddelerle karşılaştıklarında solunumsal rahatsızlık yaşama oranının kontrol grubuna göre yüksek olmasına rağmen, bu maddeleri kullanma sıklıklarının da yüksek olması dikkat çekici bulundu. Astımlı hastaların tedavileri planlanırken, astımı tetikleyen etkenler konusunda bilgilendirilmeleri tedavilerine olumlu katkı sağlayabilir.
Determining the perfume and perfume contain products use among asthmatic patients: A case-control study
Objective: This study was performed to determine the frequencies of using perfume or perfume contain products between asthmatic patients and no asthmatic outpatients that have not any allergic story and to compare them. Methods: This study has been carried on 83 patients who were treated at Allergy Clinic through October to December 2004 and on 264 patients applied to Orthopedic Outpatient service in May 2005 with no history of asthma. Results: Among case group, it was reported 79.5% experienced discomfort in breathing at any contact with odours, 68.7% used perfume regularly at a daily base, 85.5% consumed perfume contain hygienic products or softeners, 44.6% used room perfume. Among control group it was reported 22.3% experienced discomfort in breathing at any contact with odours, 47.0% used perfume regularly at a daily base, 58.7% consumed perfume contain hygienic products or softeners, 34.1% used room perfumes. Conclusion: It is interesting that although the proportion of suffering discomfort at breathing is higher among case group at contacts with perfume and perfume contain hygienic products, it is more common to use this kind of products among them. At the time of planning the treatment of asthma patients, giving information to them on factors triggered the asthma may provide positive contribution to their cure.
