A literature review on user centered design and product usability

User-centred design (UCD), a design process shaping the product in accordance with the users' expectations, is an ergonomics-oriented product design approach. In the ergonomics literature, the required criteria related to user centred (usable) product design are classified into two major categories: performance and emotional expectations. In this study, a literature review on the user-centred design and the product usability which places greater emphasis on emotional expectations is provided. Following the review, the relevant evaluation and implications for further research is also provided.
