Basınçlı infiltrasyon yöntemi ile üretilen Al-SiCp kompozitlerde partikül boyutunun abrasiv aşınma davranışına etkisi

Bu çalışmada, basınçlı infiltrasyon yöntemi ile üretilen Al-%55 SiC partikül (SiCp) takviyeli kompozitlerin abrasiv aşınma davranışına partikül boyutunun etkisi incelenmiştir. Abrasiv aşınma testleri 100, 280 ve 500 mesh Al2O3 zımparalar üzerinde, 12, 24 ve 36 N yükler altında, disk üzerinde pim aşınma cihazı kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Takviyesiz matriks alaşımı ile karşılaştırıldığında kompozitler mükemmel aşınma direnci göstermişlerdir. Kompozitlerin aşınma hızı, artan yük, artan aşındırıcı tane boyutu ve azalan takviye partikül boyutu ile artmıştır.

Effect of the reinforcement particle size on the abrasive wear behaviour of the Al-SiCp composites produced by pressure infiltration technique

In this study, the effect of the reinforcing particle size on the abrasive wear behaviour of Al-55vol.% SiC particulate (SiCp) reinforced composites produced by pressure infiltration technique has been investigated.Abrasive wear tests were carried out under the normal loads of 12, 24 and 36 N, against to 100, 280 and 500 mesh abrasive Al2O3 papers using a pin-on-disc type wear tester. The composites showed excellent wear resistance when compared to the unreinforced alloy. The wear rate of the composites increased with increasing applied load and abrasive grain size. Increase of reinforcement particle size improved the abrasion resistance of the composite.
