Tipula (Lunatipula) Istriana Erhan and Theowald, 1961 yumurtalarının dış morfolojik yapısı (Diptera, tİpulidae)

External morphology of eggs of Tipula (Lunatipula) Istriana Erhan and Theowald, 1961 (Diptera, Tipulidae)

Tipula (Lunatipula) istriana laid eggs singly. Dark colored eggs are spindle-shaped and 0.4 ± 0.05 mm in width, 0.8 ± 0.05 mm in length. The egg surface is covered by some kind of chorionic spines except micropylar region. Most of the chorionic spines are short with an acute end and the others are taller. The tall chorionic spines become narrower towards to the end, but the upper parts are large and spongious. Some chorionic spines are connected by flattened chorionic structures. Micropyle is placed in the center of a shallow depression on a small elevated mound of eggs. There is not any aeropyle or terminal filament.
