Bir montaj hattında, yüksek üretim oranına erişmeyi sağlayan değişik alternatif yollar vardır. Bunlardan birisi de paralel istasyonların kullanılmasıdır. Bu makalede, dengeleme sonrası istasyonların paralellenmesini sağlayan bir sezgisel metot sunulmuş ve örnek bir problem üzerinde açıklanmıştır. Metot, istasyon boş zamanlarını azaltarak ve üretim hızını artırarak hattın denge etkinliğini geliştirme potansiyeline sahiptir. Ayrıca metot, tek modelli montaj hattı dengeleme problemleri için geliştirilen ve paralelliğe izin vermeyen çözüm tekniklerinden de faydalanma imkanı sağlamaktadır.

There are several alternative ways of achieving a higher production rate in an assembly line. One of these alternatives is to use parallel stations. In this paper, a heuristic method which provides paralleling of the stations after balancing of the line is suggested and is illustrated by solving an example problem. The method has the potential of improving the balance efficiency of the line by reducing the station idle times and increasing the production rate. Furthermore, the method utilizes the solution techniques developed for the single model assembly line balancing problem without paralleling.
