2000 yılında benim halkbilimleri dersinden lisans öğrencim olan Kristina van Niekerk,Makria Yaidoura’ı (Uzun Eşek) 29 yaşındaki bir erkekten derlemişti. Bu kişi deoyunu on yaşındayken 1981 yılında, Atina’nın bir kenar mahallesi olan Holargos’takomşu çocuklarından öğrenmiş. Öğrencimin detaylı raporunun temel içeriği şu şekilde:Bu oyun kendi içinde iki eşit gruba ayrılmış en az 8 oyuncu ile oynanır ve oyununbir parçası olarak bir duvara gereksinim vardır. Büyük bir alana ihtiyaç duyulmamasınarağmen, oyun dışarıda oynanır. Oyunun amacı B takımı üyelerinin vücut ağırlıklarınıkullanarak karşı tarafın, A takımının, vücutlarıyla oluşturduğu yapıyı çökertmesidir.
