THE ORIGIN OF LANGUAGE: AN INTRODUCTION

This article focuses on the origin of the human language. There are many differences betweenthe human language and the languages of other living creatures in terms of both ability and organsused. These differences occurred because of a long process, but today we can only see theresults of this process. There are some issues that need to be explained when we look at humancivilization and pre-modern times in general. One of them is language ability and languageitself. The history of thought has many sources on the origin of language. Many scholars andthinkers, from Plato to Chomsky, have thought about this topic and expressed their ideas. Sincethe subject of this article is within the boundaries of thought and knowledge, in other words,because it is within the boundaries of science and philosophy, we described the ideas that weresaid rather than expressing our own ideas. There are many different claims about the origin oflanguage. Perhaps this issue has taken its place in people’s minds and conversations since theperson who started to think about language with a reflexive method. Therefore, many differentexplanations have reached our day. In this article, only the main claims are mentioned as muchas possible and a general evaluation is made in the conclusion.
