A Review on The Relationship Between Social Media Addiction and Attachment Styles

The excessive use of social media sites reveals that these trendy phenomena can become an addiction among some individuals. Considering that social media addiction is associated with a range of emotional and relational issues as well as performance problems, it is important to understand the causes, consequences, and remedies. It is thought that attachment styles, as well as personality traits, can be an important factor in explaining social media addiction. Therefore, a large researcher group continues to examine the impact of attachment styles on the internet and social media addiction. The results of these studies reveal that there is a positive relationship between insecure attachment styles and the intense and dysfunctional use of social media. This study tries to make sense by reviewing the findings of researches that explain the reasons why individuals that have various attachment styles use social media extensively.
