Fosforik asitle aktifleştirilen şeker pancarı küspesinden elde edilen aktif karbonla sulu çözeltilerden Pb(II) iyonlarının giderilmesi
% 30'luk fosforik asit çözeltisi ile aktifleştirilen şeker pancarı küspesinin karbonizasyonu ile elde edilen aktif karbon örnekleri kullanılarak sulu çözeltilerden Pb(ll) iyonları giderilmeye çalışılmıştır. Değişik şartlarda elde edilen aktif karbon örneklerinin Pb(II) iyonlarını uzaklaştırma verimi, karbonizasyon sıcaklığı ve süresinin artırılmasıyla artmaktadır. Optimum giderme (% 62.4) aktifleştirilen pancar küspesinin 400 °C'de 300 dakika süreyle karbonizasyonundan elde edilen aktif karbon örnekleri ile sağlanmıştır. Pb(II) iyonlarını giderilme verimi büyük ölçüde ortamın pH'sına bağlıdır. Farklı sıcaklıklarda gerçekleştirilen deney sonuçları Langmuir ve Freundlich izotermlerine uygulanmıştır. Langmuir sabiti $(Q_{max})$ ile Freundlich sabiti $(K_f)$'nin pH 4.5 için 25 ve 60 °C'deki değerleri sırasıyla 7.254, 6.821 mg/g ve 1.841, 0.392 mg/g olarak tespit edilmiştir. $(Q_{max})$ ve $(K_f)$ değerlerinin sıcaklıkla azalması, giderme prosesinin ekzoterm olduğunu göstermektedir.
The removal of Pb(II) ions from aqueous solutions by activated carbon from sugar beet pulp impregnated with phosphoric acid
The removal of Pb(II) ions from aqueous solutions in a series of activated carbons obtained by carbonising sugar beet pulp impregnated with % 30 phosphoric acid was studied. By increasing time and temperature of carbonisation, the removal efficiency of Pb(II) ions by activated carbons obtained at different conditions increased. The optimum removal (62.4 % ) was provided by activated carbon samples obtained by carbonising impregnated sugar beet pulp at 400 °C for 300 min. The removal efficiency of Pb(II) ions is, to a large extent, dependent on pH of medium. The results of experiments carried out at various temperatures were applied to Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm equations. The values Langmuir constant $(Q_{max})$ and Freundlich constant $(K_f)$ at 25 and 60 °C for pH 4.5 were calculated as 7.254, 6.821 mg/g and 1.841, 0.392 mg/g, respectively. Decreasing the values of $(Q_{max})$ and $(K_f)$ with rising in temperature shows that the removal process is exothermic.
