Küçük ada ekonomilerinde ekonomik büyümenin makroekonomik belirleyicileri: KKTC ve GKRY örneği

Globalleşme süreciyle birlikte ülkelerarası faktör hareketliliğinin artması, iktisat politikalarının sorgulanmasını gerektirmiştir. Ülke örneklerinden hareketle makro ekonomik indikatörlerin ekonomik büyüme üzerine olan etkilerini belirlemek amacıyla çok sayıda araştırma yapılmakla birlikte, ada ekonomilerinde bu sürecin izlenmesi konusunda bir literatür eksikliği söz konusudur. Bu çalışmada 1985-2008 dönemi verilerinden hareketle Kıbrıs adasını paylaşan KKTC (Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti) ve GKRY (Güney Kıbrıs Rum Yönetimi)’de ekonomik büyümenin makro ekonomik belirleyicilerinin tespit edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Analiz sonuçlarına göre, işsizlik dışındaki diğer değişkenlerin ekonomik büyümenin gerçekleşmesine pozitif katkı sağladıkları tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca ekonomik büyüme üzerinde en fazla etkiye sahip indikatörün ihracat olduğu belirlenmiştir.

Macroeconomic determinants of economic growth in small island economies: the case of TRNC and GSASC

Along with globalization process, increase in international factor mobility required to question the economic policies. With moving from samples of countries, in order to determine the influences of macroeconomic indicators on economic growth, a number of studies were carried out, but there is an insufficiency of literature about monitoring this process in island economies. In this study, with moving from the data of Period 1985-2008, in TRNC (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus) and GSASC (Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus) sharing the island Cyprus, it is aimed to be identified the macroeconomic determinants of economic growth. According to the results of analysis, it was determined that the other variables other than unemployment provided a positive contribution to realization of economic growth. In addition, it was determined that the indicator having the most effect on the economic growth was export.
