The Principle of the Dictum de Omni et Nullo in Syllogism

This study aims to examine; important and value of the principle of the dictum de omni et nullo in the syllogism. İn order to achieve this purpose, we consider at first how the syllogism is made. The syllogism is done three term: these ara big, middle and minor. İt begins with big term. Secondly the essay statements that principle of the dictum de omni et nullo. The principle is that ' whatever is predicated, whether affirmatively or negatively, of a term distributed may be predicated in like manner of everything contained under it.' According the principle first figure is perfect syllogism whereas second, third and fourth figures are imperfect. For this reason the other figures are reduced to the first. Thirdly the art deals with criticisms against to the reduction and the dictum de omni at nullo, after evaluates them.
