Bu yazıda amacımız fiziksel nesneler ile bunların özelliklerinin temel kategorilerini ortaya koyup incelemektir. Bu amaçla önce çeşitli varlık kategorilerini dile getiren deyimleri, gerek sözdizimi gerekse anlambilim açısından ortaya koyuyoruz. Sonra ontolojik açıklamaların temelinde olan özne-yüklem önermesinin mantıksal yapısını ayrıntılı olarak sergiliyoruz. En sonda da tümeller ve genel olarak soyut nesnelere ilişkin çokta-birlik problemine verilen çözümler açısından başlıca ontolojik görüşleri birbiriyle karşılaştırıp irdeliyoruz.

The Ontology of the Physical Realm

In this paper, we investigate the nature of physical objects and their properties. For this purpose, we consider first the syntactic and semantic features of the linguistic expressions referring to the different ontological categories. Next, we elucidate the logical structure of the subject-predicate propositions, which are at the foundation of our ontological considerations. Finally, we inquire into one-over-many problem and evaluate the different solutions proposed for this problem.
