THE ELEMENTS OF TRADITIONAL TURKISH ART MUSIC IN HASAN FERİD ALNAR’S KANUN CONCERTO

This study focuses from the perspective of the authority and procedures ofTraditional Turkish art music on the famous 'Kanun Concerto' by Hasan Ferid Alnar,the highly respected member of The Turkish Five, who were sent at Ataturk'srequest to study abroad in order to make a breakthrough in the field of music in theearly years of the Republic and who later laid the foundations of our musicrevolution with their works. It includes the views on how this piece impacted theKanun 'symphonic instrument orchestra music' and some idea of musıc researches.Hasan Ferid Alnar 's Kanun Concerto' instrument is also important in terms ofsetting an example to other instruments as a traditional Turkish instrument. The firstexecution of the work performed by the composer himself in Vienna in 1951 was inlater years also performed by the Ruhi Ayangil, Tahir Aydogdu and Halil Altinkopruwith stringed instrument orchestras.
