INVASIVE TRICHOSPORON INFECTION IN A SARS-COV-2 AND INFLUENZA COINFECTED PATIENT: A CASE REPORT
Trichosporon species can cause systemic or mucous-related or superficial infections including white piedra as well as invasive fungal infections. They can be an opportunistic invasive infectious agent, especially in immunosuppressed patients with hematological malignancies and solid organ tumors or transplant recipients. Invasive infections due to Trichosporon species have increased in recent years. The treatment of patients with trichosporonosis poses a problem due to limited data on the antifungal agents used. In this report, a case of mortality due to invasive trichosporonosis infection developed after a long-term hospitalization in intensive care unit due to COVID-19 + Influenza is presented.
