Alzheimer'lı Bireylerin Fonksiyonel Durumu ile Kognitif Durum, Psikolojik Durum, Denge ve Yürüme Fonksiyonları Arasındaki İlişkinin İncelenmesi

Amaç: Bu çalışma, Alzheimer’lı bireylerin fonksiyonel durumuyla kognitif, psikolojik durum, denge ve yürüme fonksiyonları arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi amacıyla yapıldı. Gereç ve Yöntem: Huzurevinde yaşayan Alzheimer tanılı 65 yaş üzeri bireyler çalışmaya dahil edildi. Bireylere, Mini Mental Durum Testi (MMDT), Fonksiyonel Bağımsızlık Ölçeği (FBÖ), Saat Çizme Testi (SÇT), Geriatrik Depresyon Ölçeği (GDÖ) ve Tinetti Denge ve Yürüme Testi (TDYT) uygulandı. Korelasyon için Spearman korelasyon testi kullanıldı. İstatistiksel anlamlılık için tip-1 hata düzeyi %5 olarak hesaplandı. Sonuçlar: Çalışmaya 23’ü (%71,9) kadın, 9’u (%28,1) erkek olmak üzere 32 birey katılmıştır ve yaşlarının ortalaması 78,53±7,77’dur (min:65, maks:90). Bireylerin MMDT puan ortalaması 16,06±5,11; FBÖ puan ortalaması 86,13±30,55; SÇT puan ortalaması 1,13±1,89; GDÖ puan ortalaması, 6,84±4.00 ve TDYT puan ortalaması 14,24±7,99 olarak tespit edilmiştir. Cinsiyet ve eğitim için anlamlı bir ilişki bulunamadı. FBÖ ile yaş arasında ise negatif yönde düşük derece korelasyon saptandı (rho=-0,35, p=0,04). FBÖ puanı ile GDÖ puanı arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir korelasyon bulunmadı (rho=-0,12, p=0,509), SÇT puanıyla pozitif yönde orta derecede korelasyon (rho=0.49, p=0,004), MMDT puanıyla negatif yönde düşük derece korelasyon (rho=-0,35, p=0,04) ve TDYT puanıyla pozitif yönde yüksek derece korelasyon (rho=0,82, p=0,00) belirlenmiştir. Tartışma: Huzurevinde yaşayan Alzheimer’lı bireylerin günlük yaşam aktivitelerindeki fonksiyonel durumlarına yaşın, bilişsel durumun, yürüme ve dengenin etki ettiği belirlenmiştir.

The Correlation Between Functional Status of People with Alzheimer's Disease, Cognitive Status, Psychological Status, Balance and Gait Functions

Purpose: The study was conducted to investigate the correlation between the functional status of elderly with Alzheimer's disease, cognitive, psychological status, balance and gait functions. Material and Methods: Elderly people with Alzheimer's have been included in the study. The participants were applied Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), Functional Independence Measure (FIM), Clock Drawing Test (CDT), Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) and Tinetti Balance and Gait Test (TBGT). Spearman correlation test was used for correlation. Results: Of the total 32 people, 23 (71.9%) were female and 9 (28.1%) were male and the mean age was 78,53±7,77 (min:65, max:90). The mean MMSE was 16,06±5,11, the mean FIM was 86,13±30,55, the mean CDT was 1,13±1,89, the mean GDS was 6,84±4,00 and the mean TBGT was 14,24±7,99. Significant correlation wasn’t found for sex and education level. There was a low negative correlation between FIM and age (rho=-0,35,p=0,04), and a moderate positive correlation with the CDT (rho=0,49, p=0,00), and a low negative correlation with the MMSE (rho=-0.35, p=0,04) and a high positive correlation with the TBGT (rho=0,82, p=0,00). There wasn’t a correlation between the FIM and GDS (rho=-0,12, p=0,509), Conclusion: It has been determined that age, cognitive status, gait and balance affect the functional status of the elderly living in nursing homes.
