İnsan genom projesi, insanın tüm kalıtsal materyalinin yapısının anlaşılmasında kullanılmaktadır. Son yıllarda genom projeleri ile elde edilen bilgiler çoğaldıkça bilgilerin değerlendirilmesi önem kazanmaktadır. Araştırmacılar gen aktivitesinin düzenlenmesi ve genlerin nasıl ifade edildiği üzerine bilgi ler eld e ettikçe, bütün genomun insan sağlığını ne şekilde etkilediğinin anlaşılması mümkün olacaktır. Bu derleme makalesinde, insan genom projesinden sonra gerçekleştirilen ENCODE, HapMap ve 1000 genom projeler in den ve son yıllarda yapılan bazı çalışmalardan bah sedilecektir.

The human genome project is used to understand the structure of all human genetic material.
