Current Trends in Tourism: A Conceptual Review

Tourism is an ever-expanding service sector with great growth potential. For this reason, it has become one of the most important pursuits of not only the national but also the international community as a whole. Tourism consists of various consumption activities demanding products from different industries in the economy and means different things to different people. Therefore, it can be said that tourists are motivated to travel for different reasons. Tourism evolves with society and industry to follow and meet the needs of tourists. The emergence of new technologies and the internet has brought some changes and innovations in the field of tourism. The abundance of data has affected people's interest, knowledge and experience. Changes such as the development of technology, the use of many social media tools, and the developments in the economy have affected consumer demands and expectations, and new trends in tourism have emerged in order to meet these expectations. In this study, it is aimed to examine the new trends in tourism conceptually. In this context, new trends in tourism, which have been studied recently in the international literature but are not widely known in the national literature, have been examined and these trends have been tried to be brought to the national literature.
