A NEWMETHOD FOR PERIPHERALINTRAVENOUS ACCESS: USE OF ULTRASOUND

Peripheral intravenous catheterization is one of the fundamental procedures o f modern medical çare. İt is important to perform intravenous catheterization quickly and safely. Catheterization performed with traditional methods is usually facilitate successful cannulation. But, conditions such as peripheral vascular collapse, the patient’s underlying medical problems, obesity, prior intravenous drug use, infant or elderly patients are serious difficult with traditional methods. İn this conditions, it is necessary to use of different methods to help intravenous catheterization.Ultrasound offers a new option to start peripheral intravenous access especially in patients with difficult vascular access. İn this article, is explained about ultrasound-guided peripheral venous access techniques and is given recent research about this technique
