Mandibula Angulusunda Soliter Periferal Osteoma: Nadir Bir Olgu

Soliter periferal osteomalar bening, ağrısız ve yavaş büyüyen osteojenik tümörlerdir. Perifereal osteomalar genellikle paranasal sinüsler ve temporal kemiklerde görülürler. Mandibular peripheral osteomalar nadir olgulardır. Bu vaka raporunda nadir görülen mandibula angulusunda gelişen soliter periferal osteoma sunulmuştur. Kliniğimize sağ alt çenede yavaş büyüyen, hafif ağrılı kitle nedeniyle başvuran hastanın yapılan ekstraoral klinik muayenesinde iyi sınırlı, kemik sertliğinde yaklaşık 1,5 cm boyutlarında palpasyonda hafif ağrılı kitle tespit edilmiştir. Panoramik radyografide sağ mandibula angulus alt kenarında, sınırları belirgin, radyoopak kemik benzeri lezyon izlenmiştir. Konik Işınlı Bilgisayarlı Tomografi (KIBT) görüntülerinde iyi sınırlı, hiperdens, yaklaşık 1x1x1 cm boyutlarında, sağ mandibula angulusunun lingual yüzeyine fikse mantar şeklinde radyoopak lezyon tespit edilmiştir. Lezyonun genel anestezi altında ekstroral yaklaşımla eksizyonu plandı. Lezyonun histopatolojik incelemesi periferal osteoma olarak raporlanmıştır. Bir yıllık takiplerinde nüks görülmemiştir. Bu vaka raporunda soliter periferal osteomaların klinik, radyolojik, histopatolojik bulguları ve tedavi protokolünden bahsedilmiştir.

Solitary Peripheral Osteoma at the Angle of The Mandible: A Rare Case

Solitary peripheral osteoma is a benign, slow growing; painless osteogenic tumor. Peripheral osteomas are commonly occurring at paranasal sinuses and temporal bone. Mandible is rarely affected. A rare case of peripheral osteoma located at the angle of the mandible was reported in this paper. A 14-year-old male patient who complained of a slow-growing mass and a slight pain in the right angle of mandible was referred to our clinic. Extra oral clinical examination revealed a well-defined, bony hard mass approximately 1.5 cm in diameter in the right angle of mandible. CBCT scan showed circumscribed, hyperdens, approximately 1x1x1 cm mass fixed to the lingual aspect of the right angle of mandible. Excision of the lesion with extra oral approach was planned. Histopathological evaluation was reported as peripheral osteoma. No recurrences was observed at 12-month follow up postoperatively. We present clinical, radiological, histopathological findings and the treatment of a rare case of solitary peripheral osteoma established at the angle of the mandible.
