Bupropion Extended-Release Induced Spontaneous Orgasms

Yavaş salınımlı bupropion kullanımından kaynaklanan spontan orgazmlarAntidepresan kullanımı ile ilişkili cinsel yan etkiler yaygın görülmektedir. Cinsel bir uyarılma olmadan ortaya çıkan spontan orgazmlar daha önce birkaç antidepresan için tanımlanmıştır. Biz bu olgu sunumunda 300mg/gün dozunda yavaş salınımlı bupropion başlanan hastada ortaya çıkan spontan orgazmları ele aldık. Spontan orgazmlar ilacın dozunun azaltılmasının 4. gününden sonra azalmaya başladı. Yavaş salınımlı bupropion bir norepinefrin-dopamin geri alım inhibitörüdür. Norepinefrin ve dopamin ile ilişkili mekanizmalar spontan orgazmı tetikleyebilir. Sık görülmeyen bu yan etki bupropion alan hastalarda sorgulanmalıdır. Aksi takdirde bu yan etki hastalarda utanma ve uyumsuzluğa neden olabilmektedir

Bupropion extended-release induced spontaneous orgasms Sexual side effects are common with antidepressant use. Spontaneous orgasms have been previously described with several antidepressants. We report the case of a woman who had spontaneous orgasms after starting 300mg/day bupropion extended-release. Spontaneous orgasms ceased 4 days after stopping the bupropion extended-release. Bupropion extended-release is a norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibitor. Norepinephrine- and dopamine-related mechanisms may induce spontaneous orgasms. This unusual side effect should be questioned in patients who receive bupropion, as it may cause embarrassment and noncompliance
