Bu çalışmada Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesinde Aralık 1984- Nisan 1994 dönemleri arasında cerrahi olarak tedavi edilmiş ve histolojik olarak da doğrulanmış 506 kraniyal tümörlü olgu sunulmuştur. Bu olguların 281'i erkek, 225'i kadın olup ortalama yaş 42.3 (2 ay-80 yaş) olarak bulunmuştur. Histopatolojik inceleme sonucunda %36.7 glial, %19.4 menengiom, %10.1 metastaz, %13.2 adenom, %5.7 nö'rinom, %2.6 Primitif nöroektodermal tümörler (PNET), ve %15.3 çeşitli yapılarda tümör bulunmuştur. Sonuçlar literatür eşliğinde değerlendirilmiştir.

We present a retrospective analysis of 506 surgically treated and histologically verified brain tumors at the department of Neuro surgery of Dokuz Eylül Faculty of Medicine between December 1984 and April 1994. There were 281 males and 225 females. The mean age at surgery was 42.3 (2 months- 80 years). The histopathological types of the tumors were as follows: 36.7% glial, 19.4% menengioma, 13.2% metastasis, 8.1% a3enoma, 5.7% norinoma, 2.6% Primitive neuroectodermal tumors (PNET) and 15.1 % miscellaneous primary brain tumors. The results are presented in comparison to literature.
