Dîvân-ı Hikmet Hoca Ahmed Yesevî’nin en önemli eseridir. O bu eserinde İslâmiyet'in esaslarını, tasavvufun inceliklerini sade bir dille herkesin anlayacağı tarzda ifade etmiş, bu yüzden kısa zamanda hüsnükabul görmüş, yaşadığı dönem ve daha sonraki süreçte her obada hikmetler okunur hâle gelmiştir. Hoca Ahmed Yesevî eserde ortaya koyduğu fi kir ve düşüncelerini Kur’ân âyetleri yanında Hz. Peygamber (s.a.s.)’in hadislerinden istifade ederek ortaya koymuştur. Bu itibarla Dîvân-ı Hikmet’teki beyitler incelendiğinde hadislerin belirleyici etkilerinin olduğunu görmek mümkündür. O zaman zaman hikmetlerinde hadislere orijinal metin ve meal olarak yer vermiştir.
