Başlangıcı insanlık tarihi kadar eskilere uzanan din, tarihin her döneminde bireyleri ve toplumları etkileyen en önemli faktörlerden birisi olmuştur. Öyle ki, tarihsel süreçte dinsiz bir topluma rastlanmamıştır. İnsanlık tarihinde bu derece önemli bir konuma sahip olan dinin toplumsal hayatta meydana getirdiği etkiler, günümüzde Din Sosyolojisinin esas konusunu teşkil etmektedir. Din Sosyolojisi çalışmaları, din ile toplum arasındaki ilişkilerin karşılıklı etkileşim halinde olduğunu ortaya koymuştur. İşte, bu araştırmanın konusunu da, bu etkileşimin niteliği oluşturmaktadır.

Religion whose begining dates back as long as history of human being has been one of the most important factors affecting communities and individuals in every period of the history. So in the process of the history, no community has been observed as irreligious. The effects that religion consisted in communal life which is so important in history of human being have been the main subject of the Sociology of Religion. The studies of Sociology of Religion, have brought up that there has been reciprocal influence between rilgion and society. The subject of this study consists of the quality and society.
