Chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction: Report of two cases

Kronik intestinal psödoobstrüksiyon nadir görülen bir intestinal motilite bozukluğudur. Herhangibir mekanik obstrüksiyon olmaksızın intestinal obstrüksiyonun tekrarlayan veya devamlı bulgularıile karakterizedir. Etyolojide çeşitli sistemik veya konjenital hastalıklar yer alır, neden tesbitedilmediğinde idiopatik olarak kabul edilir. Biz burada bulantı, kusma, kabızlık ve tetanisemptomları ile gelen, kronik intestinal psödoobstrüksiyon tanısı alan iki olguyu nadir görülmesinedeniyle sunmaktayız.

Chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction is a rare intestinal motility disorder. It is characterized byrecurrent or persistent findings of intestinal obstruction in the absence of any mechanicalobstruction. Various systemic or congenital diseases are held responsible in the etiology;moreover, it is accepted as idiopathic upon failure of detection of a true reason. We present herebytwo rare cases who had been admitted with the symptoms of nausea, vomiting, constipation andtetany, and were diagnosed as chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction.
