Karaciğer sirozlu hastalarda artmış plazma karnitin seviyeleri

Amaç: Karnitin zincirli yağ asitlerinin iç mitokondriyal membrandan geçişini sağlayan önemli bir kofaktördür. Çalışmanın amacı karaciğer sirozu olan erişkin hastalarda plazma total, serbest ve açil karnitin düzeylerini saptamak ve sonuçları sağlıklı kontroller ile değerlendirmektir.Yöntem: 33 kompanse ve 22 dekompanse olmak üzere 55 karaciğer sirozlu hasta(37 erkek, 18 kadın ) çalışmaya alındı. Hastaların etiyolojisi, sırasıyla 39 ve 16 hasta hepatit B ve C virüsü enfeksiyonu ile ilişkiliydi. Kontrol grup 50 sağlıklı bireyden oluştu. Increased plasma carnitine levels in patients with liver cirrhosis

Objectives: Carnitine is an important essential colactor in transfer of long chain fatty acids ac ross the inner mitochondrial membrane. The aim of this study was to investigate total, free and acyl carnitine levels in patients with liver cirrhosis in comparison with healthv subjects.Methods: A total 55(37 male /18 female) cirrhotic patients were; included in the study (33 compensated and 22 decompensated). 39 and 16 patients were; associated with HBV and HCV, respectively.
