Nikaia’dan Yeni Adak Yazıtları New Votive Inscriptions from Nikaia

Makalede, 2010-2012 yılları arasında Kültür ve Turizm Bakanlığı’nın izniyle Sakarya İli Pamukova, Geyve, Taraklı ilçeleri ile Bilecik İli Merkez İlçe, Osmaneli ve Gölpazarı ilçelerinde gerçekleştirilen epigrafik ve tarihi-coğrafi yüzey araştırmaları kapsamında tespit edilen adak yazıtları tanıtılmaktadır. Yazıtlardan birincisi, Neikon tarafından mahsulün bereketi için Tanrı Agathos’a adanmıştır. İkincisi, aynı zamanda Roma vatandaşı olan bir yerli tarafından Zeus Ouebreanos’a adanmış görünmektedir. Bu yazıtta ilk kez karşılaşılan Ouebreanos epitheton’u muhtemelen civardaki bir yer isminden türetilmiştir. Üçüncü yazıt, Aurelius Trophimos adlı Constitutio Antoniniana ile Roma vatandaşlık hakkı almış olması gereken bir yerli tarafından tanrı Zeus Soter’e adanmıştır. Dördüncü belge, Menestheus tarafından Bithynia Bölgesi’nde yaygın bir biçimde tapım gören Zeus Bronton’a verimli geçen bir hasattan sonra adanmış görünmektedir. Beşinci ve son yazıt Nikostratos oğlu Apphous tarafından Zeus’a adanmış bir sunak yazıtıdır.

NEW VOTIVE INSCRIPTIONS FROM NIKAIA

The paper presents newly discovered votive inscriptions. With permission from the Ministery of Culture and Tourism these finds were discovered during fieldwork conducted between 2010 and 2012 in Pamukova, Geyve and Taraklı districts of the province of Sakarya , as well as in the Osmaneli, Gölpazarı and central districts of the province of Bilecik. The material consists of: 1 A dedication to Theos Agathos by Neikon giving thanks for a bountiful harvest. 2 A dedication to Zeus Ouebrea-nos by a native named Titus Iulius Trophimos, who apparently had Roman citizenship. The epitheton Ouebreanos was unknown and is possibly derived from a neighboring toponym. 3 A dedication to Zeus Soter by a native named Aurelius Trophimos, who received Roman citizenship, probably due to the Constitutio Antoniniana. 4 A dedication to Zeus Bronton, who was widely worshiped in Bithynia, by Menestheus giving thanks for a bountiful harvest. 5 A votive inscription dedicated to Zeus by Neikostratos, son of Apphous.
