Küçük Frank Yıllıkları I: Aziz Amand Yıllığı

Minor Frankish Annals I: Saint Amand Annals

Although not known exactly, Saint Amand Annals are annals written in the namesake monastery between the 8th and 9th centuries. They are one of the referenced sources in the researches of history and this makes the information given by them extremely important. When considered from this point of view, Saint Amand annals are remarkable. Informing about many subjects from military expeditions to attacks, from convened assemblies to structures built and from penalties imposed to natural disasters, the annals contribute to understanding the period. It is also important in terms of indicating the significance given by Frankish Emperor Charlemagne to consultation and loyalty, and that he spent most of his time to military expeditions. Annals are also important in terms of being the oldest one among Minor Frankish Annals. For all these reasons, they have been translated into Turkish from Latin.
