Sleep Apne Syndrome and Endocrinology

Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) is a common disease that occurs as a result of respiratory pause during sleep. As a result of sleep related breathing disorders, various metabolic changes occur in the body. In addition; some metabolic disorders also facilitate sleep disordered breathing. For this reason, endocrinological, cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases occasionally coexist with OSAS.
