İNDOMETHAZİNE BAĞLI OLUŞAN GASTRİK MUKOZAL HASAR ÜZERİNE HYPERİCUM PERFORATUM YAĞININ KORUYUCU ETKİSİ

Amaç: Son yıllarda kimyasal ilaçların yan etkilerine karşı bitkisel ürünlere olan ilgi hızla artmaktadır. İndol türevi bir non steroidal anti-inflamatuar ilaç olan indometazin ile deneysel ülser modeli oluşturmak yaygın bir yöntemdir. Antioksidanlar, mukozal hasarı önlenmesinde önemli bir rol oynayabilir. Anti-inflamatuar, antimikrobiyal, yara iyileşmesi, antioksidan, antineoplastik, antianksiyete, antidepresan ve anti ülseratif etkileri olan Sarı Kantaron olarak bilinen Hypericum perforatum L., halk arasında birçok hastalığın tedavisinde kullanılan geleneksel bir bitkidir. Bizde çalışmamız da Sarı Kantaron yağının gastrik mukozal iyileşme ve hasar önleyici etkisini araştırmayı planladık.Gereç ve yöntemler: Çalışmada, Sprague-Dawley erkek sıçanlar kullanıldı. Mukozal hasar indüklenmeden 1 saat önce Hypericum perforatum yağı (HPY) (2 ml/kg) olacak şekilde verildi. Mukozal hasar intragastrik olarak 30 mg/kg indometazin uygulaması ile oluşturuldu. Çalışmanın sonunda mide dokularında ülser alan indeksi, SOD, MDA ve KAT düzeyleri ölçülerek mide ince yapısı histopatolojik olarak değerlendirildi. Protective Effects of Hypericum Perforatum Oil on Indomethacin-induced Gastric Mucosal Damage

Aim: In recent years, herbal products are rapidly increasing interest because of the adverse effects of chemical drugs. Indomethacin is endol derivated non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and widely used for induction of experimental ulcer model. Antioxidants may also play an important role in the prevention of mucosal damage. Hypericum perforatum L., commonly known as St John's wort is a traditional herb that has been used to treat many diseases. St John's wort extract has also effects as an anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, wound healing, antioxidant, antineoplastic, antianxiety, antidepressant and anti-ulcerative effects. Also, we aimed to investigate the healing and protective effects of Hypericum perforatum oil (HPO) on gastric mucosal injury in our study.Methods: In this study, male Sprague-Dawley rats were used. 1 hour before mucosal damage was induced, HPO (2 ml/kg) was added into the groups. Mucosal damage is induced by intragastrically applying 30 mg/kg indomethacin. From samples of stomach, gastric pH, analysis of gastric mucus and ulcer index were calculated.
