Determination of Sulfosulfuron and Mesosulfuron + Iodosulfuron residues in soil by sunflower seedling bioassay

Effects of the soil residues of sulfosulfuron and mesosulfuron + iodosulfuron on sunflower as assay plant were determined by seedling bioassay in growth chamber. Root parameters were more sensitive than shoot parameters for both herbicides. Root length was the most susceptible biological parameter to the soil residues of these herbicides. Differences of between 15 days and 30 days were not important to determine the effects of herbicide residues. I50 values for sulfosulfuron, mesosulfuron + iodosulfuron at 15 days and 30 days assays were 0.88, 1.66 and 1.19, 1.46 µg kg-1, respectively
