Bazı bitki ekstraktlarının in vitro koşullarda Botrytis cinerea Pers.’ya antifungal aktivitelerinin belirlenmesi
In vitro antifungal activity of some plant extracts against Botrytis cinerea Pers.
This study was aimed to investigate the efficacy of extracts obtained from elevenplants against Botrytis cinerea causing disease in fruit and vegetables underlaboratory conditions. The extracts obtained from plants of garlic (Allium sativumL.), cabbage (Brassica oleracea var capitata f. alba), red cabbage (Brassicaoleracea var capitata f. rubra), fennel (Foeniculum vulgare Mill.), coriander(Coriandrum sativum L .), g inger ( Zingiber officinale R oscoe), s umac ( Rhuscoriaria L.), red beet (Beta vulgaris), olive (Olea europaea L.), walnut (Juglansregia L.), and cleavers (Galium aparine L.) were used throughout the study.Based on the effects of the plant extracts obtained by maceration with ethylalcohol against the colony growth of B. cinerea in the petri dishes, potentialextracts were then subjected to sub-dose trials (1/1, 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/5 ratios). The extracts, which inhibited colony growth of the pathogen in the petri disheswere also evaluated for their effects on spore germination and formation of thegerm tube. As a result, it was determined that ginger, walnut, red cabbage, andsumac extracts had antifungal activity by inhibiting the colony growth of fungusby 69.52%, 28.52%, 20.96%, and 15.17% respectively. It was observed that theginger extract having the highest effect continued its effectiveness up to 1/4dose. In addition, it was determined that ginger extract inhibited 75.45% of sporegermination and 84.91% of germ tube formation. It was also detected that it hasthe best effect against the pathogen by causing shortening and deformation inthe germ tubes in the spore of the pathogen.
