Felsefe yolda olmaktır daha doğrusu yolda oluşun farkında olmaktır. Farkında olmanın gerçekleşeceği en uygun benzetmedir yol. İnsanın tarihinden biriktirdiği tecrübe, yol tecrübesidir. Yolda olmak, insanın kaderi. Bir yerden bir yere, bir şeyden bir şeye, bir halden bir hale doğru, her eylem, her durum, yol ile karşılanabilir ve yine yol, hem gerçeklik hem de metafor olarak, bağlantılı olduğu her bir duruma uyarlanabilir. Bu manada içinden yol geçmeyen, onunla bağlantılı olmayan hiçbir şey yok gibi. İçinde yol geçen deyimlerin ahlâka yaptığı göndermelere baktığımızda bu görülür. Yol ve ahlak arasındaki bu bağ kurma eylemi bizi bir yere doğru götürüyor. Her eylem bir seçmeyi gerektirir, her seçme eylemi de bir değerlendirmeyi… Değerlendirme de kendisine göre değerlendirme eyleminde bulunduğumuz bir değeri (value) gerektirdiği için, yol-yolcu-yolculuk ve yola ilişkin kavramlar ahlâkî bir boyut taşırlar.

To philosophize is to be on the road or rather, it can be described as the awareness of being on the road. The word –road- will be the most appropriate metaphor in which this awareness can materialize. What human beings experience throughout the history is the “road” experience? To be on the road is our destiny, from one place to another, from a kind of emotional state to another. And at that point, every action and every situation can be expressed with the word –road-, in addition, it can be easily adapted to each related situation in terms of reality and metaphor. In this sense, it appears that there is almost nothing which is not related to a road. It can be easily seen when we examine the idioms involving the word road This attempt of building a relation between ethics and road leads us to a point: Every action entails a choice and every choice entails an evaluation. Since evaluation also entails a value in materializing itself, the concept of road and other concepts related to road carry ethical dimensions.
