Çağdaş Analitik Epistemolojiye (veya Gettierolojiye) Metodolojik Bir Eleştiri: Poppercı Yaklaşım

Analitik epistemolojinin merkezi bir sorunu haline gelen “Gettier sorunu” sadece epistemolojik bir sorun olmakla kalmamıştır. Bu sorun sıklıkla bir "kavram analizi" sorunu olarak formüle edildiğinden önemli bir metafelsefi soruna da dönüşmüştür. Böylece bugün çağdaş analitik felsefe, Gettier sorunu bağlamında biri epistemoloji içi bir kriz, diğeri metodolojik temellendirme krizi ve bir diğeri analitik felsefenin kimliği krizi olmak üzere üç kriz veya tartışma konusuna tanıklık etmektedir. Bu çalışmada söz konusu tartışmalara dair iki görüş savunulmaktadır. Birincisi yaygın kanaatin aksine Gettier sorunu bir kavram analizi sorunu değildir. Bu yaygın kanaat analitik felsefenin gelişimini doğru yorumlayamamaktan doğan bir yanılgıdır. İkincisi Gettier sorununa kaynaklık eden yöntem, içinde “bilir”, “bilgi”, “inanç” ve ilgili terimleri içeren önermelerin dilbilimsel analize tabi tutulmasını teklif eden gündelik dil felsefesi yaklaşımının sürdürülmesinden başka bir şey değildir. Ancak, Karl Popper'ın da uzun zaman önce uyardığı gibi, gündelik dil felsefesi yaklaşımını epistemolojik sorunlara uygulamadaki temel sıkıntı, epistemolojinin ana konusundan bir sapmaya yol açmasıdır.
