Genel manasıyla bir toplumun yaşam biçimi ile ilgili olan temaların bütünü olarak algılanan kültür; nesilden nesile aktarılan tarihsel bir sürecin ürünüdür. Toplum kimliğinin en önemli temsil öğesi olarak kabul edilen bu ürün, aynı zamanda bir düşünce biçimidir. Bu düşünce biçiminin şekillendirdiği alanlardan birisi de müziktir. İçeriğinde duygu, düşünce, ses, estetik ve kültür öğelerinin iç içe yer aldığı müzik, bir toplumun kültürel değişimi ve çeşitliliğini en açık şekilde ifade eden araçlardan birisidir. Kıta, ülke, bölge, şehir, köy v.b birçok yerleşim alanına göre şekil kazanabilen kültür bu yönüyle müziğe de tesir etmiştir. Bir başka deyişle; yaşam anlayışı farklı olan alanların müzikleri de farklıdır. Toplum içerisindeki neşe, hüzün, haykırış ve isyanın samimi bir anlatım biçimi olan müzik, kültür ana başlığı altında “müzik kültürü”, ülkemiz kapsamında yer alan başlıkta ise “Türk müzik kültürü” olarak isimlendirilir. Yaklaşık beş bin yıllık bir oluşum ve gelişim sürecini ifade eden Türk müzik kültürü, Orta Asya’dan günümüze değin birçok değişim ve dönüşüm yaşamıştır. Bu döngülerin oluşumunda farklı medeniyet anlayışlarının etkisi de çok büyük olmuştur. Müzik türleri olarak düşünüldüğünde ise geleneksel müziklerden popüler müzik anlayışına kadar çok geniş bir yelpazeyi içeren Türk müzik kültürü, birçok ana başlık altında incelenebilir. İşte bu çalışma; geçmişten günümüze Türk müzik kültürünün oluşum ve değişimine etki eden faktörleri mercek altına almak ve değerlendirmek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın şekillenmesine literatür taramasının büyük ölçüde fayda sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.

Literally, culture which is perceived as a body of themes related to the way of life of a society is the product of a historical process which is passed down from generation to generation. This product perceived as the most important representation element of social identity is a way of thinking as well. One of the fields that are shaped by this way of thinking is music. Music,in which sense,thought,sound,aesthetic and cultural elements are included, is one of the means which state cultural exchange and diversity explicitly. Culture which takes its form according to continent, country, region, city, village,etc…has impressed the music with this aspect. In other words, the fields which have different living mentality have different music genres. Music which is a way of expressing joy,sadness,shout and rebellion intimately in a society is called as “Music Culture” under the title of culture and also called as “Turkish Music Culture”under the title of Turkish cultue. Turkish music culture which dates back to for five thousand years and which expresses the development process has many changes from mid East to present. Different civilisation mentalities have great effects on the formation of these cycles. When it is thought as music genres, Turkish music culture which includes wide ranges of music genres such as traditional music and popular music and etc…can be examined under many head titles. Here, this study is done with the aim of evaluating and putting the factors that have great effects on the change and the formation of Turkish music culture under the scope. Literature search is thouhght to help considerably to the embodiment of this study.
