Gelecek kaygısı, toplumların çevre sorunlarına daha ciddi olarak eğilmelerinde temel etken olmuştur. Yarınını güvence altına almak isteyen insan, çevre sorunlarına daha duyarlı olmaya başlamış ve bu sorunları değişik etkinliklerle toplumların gündemine yerleştirmiş, böylelikle çevre bilincini ortaya çıkarmıştır. Çevreye duyulan ilgi, doğal kaynakların sınırlılığı karşısında insan ve çevresi arasındaki duyarlı dengenin önemini yansıtmaktadır. Yine bu ilgi en azından doğal çevrenin korunmasını amaçlayan araştırmaların gelişmesini sağlamıştır. Bu araştırmaların temelinde “Çevre Eğitimi Bilgisi” yatmaktadır. Eğitimin çevreye yönelik bir biçimde verilmesi, geleceğimiz açısından büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bu da, ilköğretimden üniversiteye kadar tüm eğitim kurumlarında gerçekleşebilir. Bu çalışma, eğitim kurumlarındaki çevre eğitimini geliştirmek amacıyla başlatılan bir dizi çalışmanın yalnızca bir bölümünü oluşturmakta ve lise düzeyinde çevre eğitimi için neler yapılabileceğini saptamak amacıyla öğretmen-öğrenci ve velilere uygulanan anketlerdeki sorulara verilen çarpıcı yanıtların değerlendirilmesini kapsamaktadır

Human being, desiring to put their tomorrow under guaranty, starded to be more sensitive to the environmental problems and these problems appeared in the agenda of the societies with different events and thus uncovered the consciousness towards environment. The interest shown to the environment, in view of the limited natural resources, reflects the importance of the sensitive balance between the human being and the environment. It is again this interest that, at least, resulted in development of research works, having the objective of protection of the natural environment. At the foundations of these research works, there is the “Environment Education Knowledge”. Provision of education, in form oriented to environment, bears a significant importance with respect to our future. This starts from the primary school education and con be attained at educational institutions termed post graduate. This study, forms only a part of a series of works started in educational institutions with the purpose of development of the environmental education and with aims at determining what can be done on the subject of environmental education, at high school level and performs assessments on the attractive responses which were provided to the survey questions, applied to the teacher-student and guardians of the students
